About the venue
Maxwell Stay is a popular Vaal River wedding destination for couples who want exclusivity, river views and room for every guest to stay on the property. Unlike a single function venue, our estate combines ceremony lawns, reception spaces and three luxury residences so your wedding party can celebrate without shuttling between locations.

Whether you are planning an intimate riverside ceremony or a full estate celebration for family and friends, our team works with you on dates, accommodation layout and catering. Full board, half board and private chef options are available, alongside self catering flexibility for multi day wedding weekends.
The estate is approximately one hour from Johannesburg and easily accessible from Gauteng and the Free State, making it practical for local guests and destination style celebrations alike.
How it works
Submit our online wedding enquiry with preferred dates, estimated guests and whether you need the entire estate or specific residences.
Our reservations team confirms availability, recommends a property mix and outlines accommodation and catering options within one business day.
Once you are happy with the proposal, we confirm your booking by email with payment details. Your guests can stay on site for the full wedding weekend.
Your celebration
Tell us your dates and guest count. We check the calendar and email you a proposal, usually within one business day.
Share your preferred dates, guest count and any special requests. We respond within one business day.
Rates
Rates below are from our current pricing schedule. Weekend nights are Friday and Saturday. Minimum 2 nights for weekend bookings; 5 nights from 16 December to 3 January.
